About us

Taking Matters Into Our Own Hands project aims for empowering deaf and hard of hearing youngsters with entrepreneurial skills and online educational resources for learning and developing skills for entrepreneurship and employment.

Welcome to the Empower Employ platform of the project “Taking Matters Into Our Own Hands: Employment and Entrepreneurship”, an Erasmus+ KA220-YOU project dedicated to fostering employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for deaf and hard of hearing youth.

Our mission is to create a supportive and inclusive environment where young people with communication obstacles can thrive in the job market and entrepreneurial ventures.

We believe in the potential of every individual, regardless of their hearing abilities. Our project is committed to:

  • Empowering Youth: Providing deaf and hard of hearing youngsters with the skills and resources they need to succeed in the job market and entrepreneurship. We aim to boost their confidence and capabilities through innovative educational tools and training programs.
  • Supporting Youth Workers: Enhancing the skills of youth workers by developing educational materials and a curriculum tailored to empower and support young people with communication barriers. Our goal is to ensure that youth workers are well-equipped to facilitate the growth and success of their target groups.
  • Creating Sustainable Networks: Building a robust network of organizations, educators, and individuals committed to the inclusion and empowerment of deaf and hard of hearing youth. Through our online platform, we provide valuable resources and opportunities for collaboration and continuous learning.

Our project encompasses a variety of activities designed to achieve our mission:

  • Educational Materials and Tools: We develop curriculum and toolkit for youth workers and youth, ensuring they have access to the best practices and methodologies for supporting deaf and hard of hearing youth.
  • Online Learning Courses: We create engaging and accessible online courses tailored to the needs of our target groups, focusing on entrepreneurial and employability skills.
  • Workshops and Trainings: We conduct national training sessions and workshops to test and implement our educational materials, ensuring their effectiveness and relevance.
  • Networking and Sustainability: We host online campaigns and a final conference to disseminate our results, promote our network, and ensure the long-term sustainability of our project.

“Taking Matters Into Our Own Hands: Employment and Entrepreneurship” is a collaborative effort, bringing together a diverse group of organisations from across Europe, each contributing their unique expertise and experience.
Together, we are committed to creating a future where deaf and hard of hearing youth can fully participate in and contribute to society. Join us in our mission to empower, employ, and inspire.
